Today we explore! The group heads off to an island hopping adventure, while Gianna and I get ready to run around and learn the history of Split. We chow on the hostel noms, which are pretty fabulous, and head to Diocletian’s Palace.

6:30 PM Thursday.
Zzzzzzzz…. “Ciao ladies and gentlemen! We will be landing shortly. Please prepare for---" Zzzzzz… WHAT I’M AWAKE WHAT’S GOING ON. I jolt myself up as the flight attendant finishes her speech. I’m here! I made it! I run out of the plane saying ciao to everyone around me. The airport is nothing exciting… JUST KIDDING THERE IS GELATO EVERYWHERE. Yes, this is my country. I find my bags and make my way to the hotel. I want to explore but it’s late, I’m exhausted, and I’m by myself. At the hotel, I struggle to speak with the Italian desk clerk, finally get my gold, tasseled room key, and hike up eight flights (mountains) of stairs. There it is! The Duomo! Right outside my window. It’s breathtaking. Or was that just the stairs talking? But the moment I saw the bed in front of me I toppled over. I’ll just take a little nap then go explorzzzzZZZzzzzzzz.
